Daily Routine

The Morning

A typical day begins with breakfast served at 6 a.m. at the school unless otherwise noted in the itinerary. You should plan to pack your gear and load it onto the truck each day. Food and water are the fuel your body needs to ride — so eating is important! Breakfasts are available at the school every morning unless otherwise noted.

The Day

Feel free to ride at your own pace, stop at the SAG’s to rest and refresh, and take in the sites and attractions along the way. The luggage truck will arrive at the school by noon; after retrieving your luggage, you are free to set up camp, clean up and explore the town. Recommended lunch stops are listed on the daily itinerary.

Host cities are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Border Raiders. Many of the host cities have arranged for local discounts at restaurants and shops. Local transportation by bus or trolley has also been arranged to make getting around more convenient. Please see On-Line News Letter's Itinerary pages 6-9 for more specific information about discounts, local transportation, and other things to do in each host city.

The Night

Your chief source of information each day will be the nightly meetings. Please plan to attend! Meetings will take place each night at 8:30 in the gymnasium of each school unless otherwise indicated in the itinerary. You will receive information about the next day’s route, the weather, places of interest along the way, and news updates. Please note: Please bring your maps and a pen to the meeting to take notes about cautionary areas for the next day’s ride.

Our host cities look forward to serving Border Raiders participants. Several host cities have arranged for special Border Raiders entertainment. Start time for most of these activities will be 7 p.m.; check itinerary pages 6-9 for specific daily information.
